Pantosec 40

Pantosec 40 (contains pantoprazole 40 mg) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the production of stomach acid. Here are its main uses:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Relieves acid reflux and heartburn by decreasing stomach acid, which prevents the back-flow of acid into the esophagus and helps heal inflammation (esophagitis).

• Peptic Ulcer Disease: Treats and prevents stomach and duodenal ulcers by reducing acid exposure and allowing ulcers to heal.

• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Manages this rare condition involving excessive stomach acid production due to a pancreatic tumor.

• Stomach and Intestinal Ulcers: Promotes healing of ulcers and reduces risk of complications.

• Prevention of Ulcers and Acidity Caused by NSAIDs: Used when long-term painkiller use is required, as PPIs can protect the stomach lining.

• Reduces symptoms like heartburn, indigestion, upper abdominal pain, and bloating.

• Usually taken once daily, preferably before breakfast for best results.
